Why Not Voluntour (Volunteer) in Mexico?

28 Jun

Another way to become an expat (temporarily) and experience a country while giving back to the community is to voluntour.  This blog featured a guest blog post by a 23 year old volunteering in Merida, Mexico. Emilee searched for a volunteer organization online and picked Original Volunteers, an organization that didn’t charge exorbitant fees and seemed like a genuine experience. Her time in Merida (2 weeks+) included volunteering with the local orphanage and the Salvation Army to teach English to others. Read more to gain insight into Emilee’s amazing experience in Mexico bonding with the volunteers and the local children and what she gained out of the experience.
