What is Mexican Breakfast Like?

19 Sep

My knowledge of Mexican style breakfast is limited to the Americanized version of Mexican food and huevos rancheros (fried eggs served on top of fried corn tortillas topped with a tomato-chili sauce).

This writer from ABC (Australia) had a more authentic experience with huevos rancheros when she visited Canberra’s International Hotel School i Mexico – “Bold green cilantro (Mexican coriander), white ranch style eggs and a fierce red salsa made of tomatoes, onion, garlic and of course, chilli… an overly generous portion of sour cream on top and served with a big scoop of homemade refried beans.”

Take a look at the rest of her post about her experience eating breakfast in Mexico and a podcast of her and the locals discussing the food culture.

What do you think is the most important item at the table in Mexico?
