Residents Build Their Own Bikes Lanes in Mexico City

17 Nov

It’s great to see residents of a community banding together to fix or add much-needed elements to their own space. Mexico City had promised 300 kms of bike lines by 2012 and today there are only 22.2 kms covered. Mexico City residents formed a campaign to push the government to allocate more of its budget for bikes. And residents took it upon themselves to purchase paint materials to design a 5 km bike lane ending in front of congress. Read more from the Matador Network about the campaign being put forth in Mexico City.
